People

Net = sent − (received − profit) in the selected period; Standing = the same over all time. Red = you've given more (they owe you). Locked = in an IPO block right now. Settle = settled in cash or offline: adds a manual entry dated today that brings their standing to zero.

Money re-pointed

Payments you marked with a Real person in Activity, because the money only passed through someone's account. Red = they owe you that much more; green = you owe them that much more. The account it passed through is left exactly as it was.

IPO

One card per IPO. P = money sent to their account, D = they applied, blank = not in this one. Tick Allotted after listing, then fill what you made and the commission you gave them. Money back releases the blocked amount once the money is unblocked or returned.
A new IPO starts with the same people as your last one, all blank.

Blocked by hand

One-off blocks added from Activity, outside this list.

Person by person, all time

Month by month

Salary = money from your employer. IPO profit = what you typed in the Profit boxes. Spending = shops, food, bills, cash and so on: not money given to people, not investments. Saved = salary + IPO profit − spending. Click a month to look at just that month.

Add manual entry

For money not in this statement (cash, a friend's account), or money that passed through someone else. Via = whose account it passed through; their balance gets corrected automatically. e.g. Muskan paid Kavita, Kavita paid you ₹40 → Person MUSKAN, Credit, 40, Via KAVITA. IPO block = money locked for an application; delete it once released.

Transactions

Profit box: the profit part of money you received — it stops counting as them paying you back. Once you type an amount, pick why: which IPO it came from, or Other. Each IPO card then shows whether the profit tagged on payments matches the profit you filled in that card. Category: changing it re-categorises every payment with that name.
Real person: when money only passed through someone's account — Muskan paid Kavita, Kavita paid you — type MUSKAN in that payment's box. Part of a name is enough — it resolves to the person you already have (MUSKAN DIDI), never a new one. It then counts as their money and leaves the account it passed through alone; the line under the box shows how their standing moved, and People lists every one of these. Clear the box to undo. The payment still shows up under both people, so clicking either one finds it.

Name clean-up

The statement cuts long names, so one person can appear two ways. These were merged automatically; if one is wrong, fix it with ALIASES in bank.py.

Look similar, not merged

Too short or could be more than one person. If they're the same, merge them with ALIASES in bank.py.
